Financial help (thanks to the Corrèze childrens social services) was put in place, as well as psycological and social help. You should know that following marital violence, the young woman and her child need specific help to avoid the tragic events that they have gone through transforming into neurosis for one or the other.
They also opened a telephone help line 24 hours a day run by a team of volonteers. The association works jointly with the other associations in Brive. The educational team possesses lots of experience working with victims. The work with children and their mothers links them to a prevention approach to violence, in order that the suffrance of the couple (child/mother) is taken into account during the whole situation. In 1997, the association recieved the title " protection of mistreated children ". SOLIDARELLES is an accomodation and adaption shelter that welcomes children and their mothers who are victims of marital violence and who flee their homes. Since 2000, children of less than 3 years of age have been welcomed into the centre.
The SOS marital violence association that runs this shelter was created in 1990 by 2 young women : Fabienne Civiol and Catherine Ducruezet.
