The Research and Developpement Department
The Research and Training unit
Faced with mistreatment, sexual abuse, exploitation and dissapearances of children and family violence, The professionals in the legal, medical, social and educational sectors often feel isolated.
The Children's Foundation put into operation, in 1982, the research and training unit in order to respond to the training needs of professionals working with children, as is defined by the law passed on the 9th of December 1991.
The training sessions are addressed at all professionals and institutions that work within the field of child protection.
They reunite multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional groups with the aim of improving their capacity to work in teams.
It's objectives :
To update knowledge,
Aquire the teaching tools necessary to help the practises evolve,
Put into place new strategies of action to take into account the changes in society.
The training also allows meetings and exchanges between professionals.
In order to respond to these objectives, the training and research unit created a team of educators, all professionals working with the victims, cliniciens and researchers. They therefore have perfect knowledge of the institutions, procedures and working conditions.
It's uniqueness :
Specific training within the domain of child protection.
It has a team of trainers who at the same time as being researchers are also professionals working directly with the victims.
